Before entering private practice in 1981, Dr. Gold spent a year serving in a primary care residency at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry's Eye Institute, specializing in the treatment of ocular disease, with sub-specialties in glaucoma, macula degeneration, cataract treatment, neuro-optometry and retinal services. He also served as a clinical instructor there for three years. His credentials include an O.D. degree from the New England College of Optometry and his professional associations include memberships in the American Optometry Association, Pennsylvania Optometric Association and the Bucks County Optometric Society. Dr. Gold has been a clinical examiner for the National Board of Examiners. He has been responsible for assuring the competency of graduating eye doctors. To further his ongoing professional education and that of student doctors, Dr. Gold has served as an externship site where he shares his clinical and professional skills. |
When he's not at the office or spending time with his wife and family, Dr. Gold volunteers with an organization that has long been an important part of his life: the Boy Scouts of America. For the past 35 years, he has actively participated in Scouting and currently is assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 18 in Philadelphia.
